"Water Cave" Rou Gui, Spring 2018, Tea Master Xu, Shui Lian Dong, Wuyi Mountain Inner Circle
Aroma/Color/Taste: Rou Gui literally means cassia, relating to cinnamon. As a whole Rou Gui’s have a fruity aroma and flavor that mixes well with the roast. Rou Guis are drier and on the woodsier side of oolongs.
This Rou Gui is sweet, smooth & silky on the tongue with a richness of mouth. It has a hint of light cassius at the finish. It is a lighter roast than Master Xu’s “Cow Meat” Rou Gui.
Location: This Rou Gui comes from the inner circle upper mountain area of Wuyi Mountain on Shui Lian Dong (Water Curtain Cave), where we usually get our Old Tree Shui Xian. Wuyi Mountain is in the northwest province of Fujian in southeast China.
Made by: It was made by Tea Master XU from tea trees 30+ years old.
